Times Online - World

Times Online - World

Times Online - World: "I note that if one compares the German occupation of France with the occupation in certain other European countries, then proportionately it is in France where it was the least painful." Or compared to what is going on right now. Politics is dirty and people are the all time sufferer. I do not agree or disagree but we have to conside everyone point and every opinion.

Freiheit und Wissen: Oh how the Torture continues

Freiheit und Wissen: Oh how the Torture continues
"Excerts from other Blog. Please visit original blog site of the author"

Mr. Gonzalez, while serving as White House counsel, called the prohibition against torture in the Geneva Convention “quaint” and “obsolete.”

How could someone with such a disdain for protecting human rights be promoted to the head of the Justice Department of the United States? But perhaps equally disturbing is the fact that everyone expects the Democrats to let his nomination go through. Perhaps they are more concerned with saving face until mid-term elections then preventing human rights abuse.

Mahmood's Den :: Teaching intolerance

Mahmood's Den :: Teaching intolerance
Is it freedom that we could say anything even if we are mourns? Should we not teach Islam in Schools? Or should we change Islam meaning to suit us or others? Or is it better to say, let us understand Islam better, teach it more and cover different subject, so that we are able to have solid more educated decisions? I go for the second. If we keep forgetting that we are Muslims and our first priority is worshiping Allah, then we will fall deeper. In Christian world, they were clever enough to figure out that when they excluded religion it was a disaster and they are trying hard to import religion again into society and schools. But some of us can not grasp it. Anyway, just wanted to comment about that and say my word. Islam taught us to express yourself and never force your opinion. When it comes to disastrous effect like wiping Islamic teaching from schools or modifying Islam for our needs, we need a wide outcry.
